For the first edition of this deck I had created a small guide for reading with the cards. For this second edition I have gone much deeper into the imagery on each card and put that into a 100+ page guide-booklet that comes with the deck
For this edition, I went back to the stacks of books on the Weimar years that I have accumulated. I got reacquainted with each card, with each person and scene. I originally created this deck about 4 years ago and yet I was able to find the exact books and the exact pages where I got every image with relatively little trouble. I was a little surprised at how exciting it was to dig in again into why I chose each image for each card. I was also a little surprised at just how well the images and the backstories of those images support and enhance the meanings of the cards they represent. I had all that in mind when I created the cards, but now, with this book for the new edition, I’m able to share all that, all the thinking that was behind the choices I made.
